The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening the country’s long-standing partnership with Bangladesh, with particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in the economic, development and humanitarian sectors.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed the commitment in a letter to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Thursday.
President Al Nahyan extended his heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of two Bangladeshi nationals residing in the UAE who were among the victims of the attacks. He expressed his deepest sympathies to their families and the people of Bangladesh.
The president also expressed his keen interest in undertaking an official visit to Bangladesh at the earliest possible time.
Acknowledging the prime minister’s invitation to visit Bangladesh, he conveyed his hope to further deepen the enduring partnership between the two friendly nations.
According to the ministry, the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh enjoy strong and multifaceted bilateral relations founded on mutual respect, close friendship, and a shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
