Shawdesh Desk: Police recovered a body of 8-year-old girl from an empty flat of an eight-storey residential building at Wari in Dhaka on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Samia Afrin Sayma, daughter of businessman Abdus Salam, a resident of  Nawabpur area in Old Dhaka.

Harun-or-Rashid, Sub-Inspector of Wari Police Station confirmed the matter to journalists.

He said, “Sayma remained missing since the Friday night prayer. Later, she was discovered unconscious and wounded in an empty flat on the 7^th floor of the building after a thorough search.”

Police primarily suspected that the girl was murdered after she was raped by the miscreants as there were stains in the neck and number of blood marks in the body.

Police are investigating whether the girl was strangled to death.
