Four people, including a private car driver, were killed and another was critically injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a private car in Gajaria upazila of Munshiganj on Saturday.

The accident occurred around 2:38pm in the Jamaldi bus stand area on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.

The deceased were identified as Mujibur Rahman, 55, Shamima Akter, 45, Sabiha Chowdhury, 43, and the private car driver, Sohel. All three passengers were from Dhaka’s Gandaria.

Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, deputy assistant director of Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, said two rescue units from Gajaria Fire Station rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident and began rescue operations.
