The deceased was identified as Mohammad Kairul, 32, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Traffic East Division Demra zone.

Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) police camp said, “The accident has taken place around 2:30am early Friday. Victim Kairul was rushed to the DMCH immediately after he received a severe injury in the accident.”Later, the duty doctors of the hospital declared him dead, Bachchu informed.

The body of the deceased was kept in the hospital for an autopsy.
