Narrated by the distinguished Companion Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA), the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Indeed, Allah Almighty has said: ‘Whoever shows hostility towards one of My friends, I declare war against him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the obligations I have enjoined upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me through voluntary acts of worship until I love him.

Then, when I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me for something, I will surely give it to him; and if he seeks My protection, I will surely grant him protection.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 6502)

1. Being hostile towards the friends of Allah is a grave offence.

Whoever harms or shows hostility towards Allah’s righteous, devout and pious servants faces Allah’s declaration of war against him.

2. The greatest means of drawing closer to Allah is to properly fulfil the obligatory acts of worship.

Therefore, it is essential to give greater attention to performing the obligatory acts of worship.

3. After fulfilling the obligations, when a servant devotes himself to voluntary prayers, Tahajjud, recitation of the Quran, remembrance of Allah, charity and other acts of worship, Allah begins to love him specially.

4. When Allah loves a servant, He grants him guidance, piety and the ability to follow the right path.

Such a person stays away from what is forbidden and is guided towards what is beneficial and righteous.

5. The supplication of a servant beloved by Allah is accepted.

When a servant becomes beloved to Allah, his supplications receive greater acceptance. When he asks for something, Allah grants it, and when he seeks protection in times of difficulty, Allah protects him.

6. True success lies in attaining Allah’s pleasure.

The greatest success is not worldly wealth, status or fame, but becoming one of Allah’s beloved servants.
