Around 18 lakh students who appeared in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations may receive their results on 30 July, according to officials from the Ministry of Education and the Inter-Education Board.

Students, parents and educational institutions have been anxiously awaiting the results, with uncertainty growing after the announcement was delayed several times.

Sources said education boards are working to finalise the results between 27 and 28 July, after which the Ministry of Education is expected to set the official publication date. If the preparation is completed on schedule, the results are likely to be released on 30 July.

Officials said the wait is unlikely to be much longer, with the education boards aiming to publish the results before the end of the month. However, the final date has yet to be officially confirmed.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and the Dhaka Education Board, said they had initially aimed to publish the results by 20 July, but were unable to meet that target.

“We will complete the result preparation between 27 and 28 July. The results will then be published on the date decided by the Ministry of Education,” he said.

A senior official from the ministry’s Secondary and Higher Education Division said that if the boards complete the preparation by 28 July, the results could be published within the month, with 30 July being the most likely date.

The written examinations for this year’s SSC and equivalent exams concluded on 20 May. Under existing rules, results are generally published within 60 days of the completion of the examinations, meaning they were expected by 20 July. However, the education boards were unable to announce the results within that timeframe.
