At least 438 people were killed and 561 others were injured in 472 road accidents across Bangladesh in June, said a Road Safety Foundation report published on Sunday.
Most of the deaths occurred in accidents involving motorcycles, the report also said, mentioning that 30.59 per cent accident victims or 134 people died in 30.72 per cent of the accidents or 145 motorcycle-related accidents.
Accidents involving trains caused the next highest number of deaths — 18 people — with 7 more injured in 21 accidents.
Seven people were killed and four more were injured in nine waterway accidents.
The report was prepared based on the reports published in nine national dailies, seven online news portals, different electronic media and its own sources.
