Ridesharing company Uber has appointed SM Jamshed Hasan as its new country head for Bangladesh.

Jamshed will lead Uber’s business and operations in Bangladesh as the company continues to expand its mobility services and strengthen its presence in the country.

He has more than 15 years of experience in sales, business development, strategic partnerships and commercial leadership, with experience in fintech, logistics and insurance.

Jamshed joins Uber from Wagely Bangladesh, where he served as vice-president of business and growth and was responsible for business expansion and contributing to the company’s regional strategy.

Earlier, he held commercial and business development positions at DHL, UPS and MetLife, gaining experience in enterprise sales, revenue growth, strategic partnerships and product development.

Jamshed said he was ‘thrilled’ to join Uber and lead its business in Bangladesh.

Uber began operations in Bangladesh in 2016.
