One detected with black fungus at DMCH

A patient was detected with black fungus, known among doctors as mucormycosis,  at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

DMCH registrar Dr Farhad Hasan Chowdhury Maruf confirmed this information, says media report.

Dr Farhad Hasan said, “The patient, 45, came from Khulna and took admission in our unit one week ago with post-Covid-19 complications. He had been suffering from headche, sinusitis and right eyesight complication. I doubted his fungul infection and conducted sinus surgery  with the help of ENT department. Then I went for fungus test taking sample. He was detected with black fungus. He is currently undergoing treatment.”
