After winning hearts in Bonalata Express, popular screen duo Shariful Razz and Sabila Nur have teamed up once again to bring Bengali folklore’s elusive Kanabhula ghost to the big screen for Eid-ul-Azha 2027.

Filmmakers Ayman Asib Shadhin and Susmoy Sarker will make their feature directorial debuts with Kanabhula Paradox, to be presented by Tanim Noor and produced under the banner of Buriganga Talkies.

The announcement was made via an official teaser video released on Monday night.

Both Swadhin and Sarkar have spent years working as screenwriters and assistant directors on prominent Bangladeshi titles, including Kaiser, Utsab, Contract, and Bonalata Express.

Adapted from Mohaiminul Islam Bappi’s 2024 novel of the same name, the film reimagines traditional folklore. Unlike typical physical spirits, the legendary Kanabhula ghost is traditionally known for making late-night travelers lose their way and wander in continuous circles.

The film’s shooting is scheduled to begin in January 2027.
