Assistant Proctor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) allegedly has assaulted a student leader who along with other students was protesting for the third consecutive day demanding removal of Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam.

According to the claim of Nazir Amin Chowdhury Joy, president of Student Union of JU unit, Assistant Proctor Mohibur Rouf Shaibal grabbed Nazir in an attempt to remove him from in front of the old Arts and Humanities building.

The proctor appeared in front of the old Arts and Humanities building around noon on Wednesday where the students were continuing protest against alleged corruption by the authorities, Joy said.

Soon after the incident, protesting students broke off into separate groups and started chanting slogans against Professor Shaibal.
