Hanging body of JU student recovered from Sher-e-Bangla Hall

The hanging body of a student of the Archaeology Department was recovered from a residential hall of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Kanishk Majhi, a student of the 50th batch of the department and a resident of Narayanganj district.

According to hall sources, the incident took place at Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Hall, where the student had been residing in Room 413.

Fellow students found his body hanging inside the room and immediately informed the university authorities.

However, as of filing this report around 3:00pm, no officials from the university administration were seen at the hall.

Further details regarding the incident were not immediately available.
