Antique Vishnu idol recovered in Cumilla

Police recovered a black stone idol of Hindu god Vishnu, weighing 12 kg, at Sundalpur Chargowali village in Comilla’s Daudkandi upazila on Tuesday morning.
According to Model Thana police sources, Abu Yusuf Bulbul, acting headmaster of Chargowali Khandaker Naziruddin Bahumukhi High School in Sundalpur Model Union, kept a valuable Vishnu idol weighing 12 kg in his house for sale for about two months. On the basis of secret information, Daudkandi Model Police Station, with the help of locals, rescued the idol from the house of the teacher and brought it to the police station.
Daudkandi Model Police Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
