A case was filed on Sunday against seven people including Sonia Mehjabin, owner of e-commerce platform E-orange, for embezzling Taka 9.53 crore from 27 customers through fraud.
A customer named Md Nasim Prodhan filed the case on behalf of the victims with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan. Accepting the statement of the plaintiff, the court asked Gulshan Police Station to record the case as first information report (FIR).
According to the case documents, the accused realized huge sums from the victims in the name of discounts and different offers, but failed to deliver the goods to the customers on repeated scheduled dates.
