Popular ’90s film actor Omar Sani did not receive any salary for his first two released films. He worked without any honorarium in his debut movie “Chander Alo”, which was released on 31 July 1992, and also in “Ei Niye Sangsar”, released on 9 October of the same year.

Speaking about those early struggles, Omar Sani said, “Only a true artist can go through such hardship. To become a real actor, I and many others did countless things without complaining. One cannot become a true artist without struggle.”

He received his first payment around Tk60,000 to 70,000 for the third film of his career, “Agneepath”. With that money, he bought his own costumes for the movie.

Omar Sani shared many such behind-the-scenes stories in the 7th episode of Season 2 of the popular podcast “Behind the Fame with RRK”. The episode will be aired on Maasranga Television tonight at 8:00 pm.

Hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan, the long-format podcast features Sani speaking candidly on various topics, including his relationship with wife actress Mousumi and his conflict with music star Asif Akbar.
