A 45-member delegation representing 25 top companies of the US will visit Bangladesh towards the end of next week, said the Prime Minister’s Adviser and Spokesman Mahdi Amin on Saturday.

Mahdi Amin made the remark at a briefing held on the meeting between Sergio Gor, the US president’s special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs, and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Tejgaon in the capital.

During the meeting, Gor welcomed the BNP government’s initiatives so far in restoring political and economic stability inside the country, Mahdi Amin told reporters.

After the meeting, Sergio Gor also said that a US business delegation would visit Bangladesh next week. After touring different locations, the US delegation would hold a meeting to determine the potential areas for investment, Gor added.

In a post on “X”, Gor also said that strengthening economic cooperation with Bangladesh is a “priority” for the US.

There are great opportunities to enhance economic partnerships and both sides can achieve real results by working together, Gor added in the post.
