China embassy donates Smart Classroom in Sylhet

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka donated a Smart Classroom to the Sofir Uddin High School and College in Sylhet on Sunday.

Ambassador of China to Bangladesh Yao Wen attended the handover ceremony on the school and college premises.

Upon arrival, the ambassador and his colleagues were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students waving the national flags of Bangladesh and China.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Yao noted that China and Bangladesh enjoy a history of friendly exchanges stretching over a thousand years.

“The two countries are good neighbours, amicable friends and close partners. Our bilateral relations lay its foundation among the two peoples and see its future from the eyes of the younger generation,” he said.

The Smart Classroom would open a window of science and technology and build a bridge of information for the youths in Sylhet, he added.

He encouraged the students to cherish their youth times and study hard, to contribute to the realisation of “Smart Bangladesh” and the promotion of China-Bangladesh friendship.

Sofir Uddin High School and College Principal Md Roshid Ahmad appreciated the Chinese embassy for the donation of the Smart Classroom.

He said the friendly support from the Chinese people would be remembered with gratefulness, and the students enjoying it would be highly motivated to take action to carry forward the Bangladesh-China friendship.

The ceremony concluded with excellent traditional arts performed by the students.

Ambassador Yao inaugurated and inspected the Smart Classroom equipped with technological solutions and support by Huawei.

Md Jasim Uddin, additional divisional commissioner of Sylhet, Song Yang, economic and commercial counselor of the embassy, Zhang Jing, political director of the embassy, Ke Changliang, president of Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh, Pan Junfeng, president of Huawei South Asia and CEO of Huawei Bangladesh, together with more than 1000 teachers and students attended the event among others.
