The Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal three as a low-pressure area has formed over the northwest bay and adjoining areas.
Under its influence, a steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said Monwar Hossain, meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), on Monday.
Squally weather may affect Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra ports, North Bay and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, it added.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
