Police put on alert against online militancy: DMP chief

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam said law enforcers are put on high alert to thwart any militant activities during the Durga Puja.

Law enforcers do not see any security risk ahead of Durga Puja festivities but do not dismiss concerns, he said while visiting Dhakeshwari Temple on Sunday.

He said militants are giving multiple posts on their platforms, but police do not have any information as to whether instigation is taking material form.
