A truck driver and his assistant died in a head-on collision between two trucks in Baraigram upazila in Natore on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as driver Shahinur Rahman, 28, and his assistant Jasim Uddin, 22, both residents of Shailkupa in Jhenaidah district.
According to highway police, a Natore-bound truck from Kushtia collided head-on with another truck near Karbala Bridge on Natore-Banpara highway in the morning, leaving the duo critically injured.
Later they were taken to a clinic in Banpara where doctors declared both of them dead.
Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Jhalmalia Police Station, said that the bodies were handed over to their respective families.
