The drama revolves around a village Sonar Char, a name that has been largely forgotten since it was changed to Chalak Char. Ironically, the residents of Chalak Char are not clever at all; rather, they often act foolishly but believe themselves to be highly knowledgeable. Their antics provide a humorous glimpse into their lives filled with everyday silliness.
At the centre of this village is Mukam Sardar, the laziest resident who struggles to perform even the simplest tasks. He has two lovely daughters, Nilufa and Aleya, with Nilufa being married to Agun Sardar, a man who frequently returns home in tears seeking money from his father-in-law.
