Shawdesh desk: A housewife was stabbed to death by her husband in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Tanjila.

Immediately after the incident, the locals caught killer Madhu, a farmer by profession, and handed him over to the police.
Quoting locals, police said Madhu locked in an altercation with his wife Tanjila after returning home from a market on Wednesday night. At one stage, Madhu stabbed Tanjila indiscriminately with a sharp knife, leaving her dead on the spot.

Shibganj Police Station OC Farid Hossain said that after receiving the news, the police went to the spot at night and recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Chapainawabganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Legal action is being taken in this regard, he said.
