Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar on Thursday warned the government that the party and seven like-minded groups would radically alter the appearance of the capital on 11 November, if their five demands remain unmet on that day.
Eight like-minded parties, including Jamaat and Islami Andolon Bangladesh, would host a mega rally in the capital on 11 November, Parwar said.
The Jamaat leader made the remark at a press briefing after submitting a memorandum containing the demands to the government at State Guest House Jamuna. At the meeting, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan met nine leaders of eight Islamic and like-minded parties on behalf of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus.
