Islamic University BCL general secretary Rakib arrested under Digital Security Act

Police arrested Rakibul Islam Rakib, general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Islamic University (IU) unit, in a case filed under the Digital Security Act, 2018 on Friday night.
Confirming the news, Jahangir Arif, officer-in-charge (OC) of IU Police Station, said the law enforcers arrested Rakib in a case filed against him for posting provocative status on social media platform Facebook.
He will be place on court on Saturday, the police officer said.
Earlier, former general secretary of IU unit of BCL Jewel Rana Halim filed the case against Rakib on November 2 under Digital Security Act.
