The High Court on Thursday directed the authorities concerned to republish the results of the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service non-cadre recruitment process within 60 days, citing irregularities in the selection procedure.
The High Court bench comprising Justice Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar and Justice Urmi Rahman pronounced the verdict after a hearing on a writ petition filed by 455 candidates seeking non-cadre appointments under the 43rd BCS recruitment process, challenging the legality and transparency of the results.
The unsuccessful candidates’ lawyer Humayun Kabir Pallab later told reporters that the court found that the recruitment process for the 43rd BCS non-cadre posts had not been conducted in accordance with the law.
‘The court observed that the recruitment process lacked transparency and was completed in violation of the applicable legal provisions,’ he said.
He said that the court instructed the authorities to carry out the non-cadre recruitment process afresh and publish a transparent merit-based list within the stipulated 60-day period.
