Hajj flights for 2026 are scheduled to begin on April 18, announced religious affairs minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad on Tuesday.
The announcement was made during the first session of the Jatiya Sangsad, in response to a question from Cox’s Bazar-3 lawmaker Lutfor Rahman, who asked whether the government had taken any measures to reduce the cost of performing Hajj, and if not, whether any steps would be taken.
Replying, minister Kaikobad said that the 2026 Hajj package had been finalised, with payments for various Saudi and Bangladesh-related costs already completed.
All necessary procedures, including visas, have been completed according to the Saudi timeline.
He confirmed that flights would commence from April 18.
Regarding the 2027 Hajj package, the minister said that the government would take initiatives to reduce overall costs while considering pilgrims’ needs and facilities when preparing and announcing the packages.
