70 hurt as AL, BNP men lock in clash in Sirajganj

Seventy people were injured in a fierce clash between the activists of Awami League (AL) and BNP at EB road area in Sirajganj town on Sunday.
The clash erupted around 11:00am when AL brought out a procession in the area.
Addition superintend of police Abu Yousuf said both the groups used local weapons during the clash that lasted for around an hour. On information, police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
A temporary police camp has been set up in the village to avert further clashes.
