A court in Laxmipur on Tuesday sentenced four people including son’s wife to death for killing mother-in-law in 2016.
The condemned convicts are Sharmin Akter, also wife of the victim’s son, Md Jamal, son of late Tariq Ullah, Md Najim and Jasim Uddin, son of Md Hossain.
District and Sessions Judge Md Shaheenur passed the order on Tuesday noon.
According to court sources, Jakera Begum, wife of Ruhul Amin of Teoariganj union in Sadar upazila, was strangled to death by the convicts on July 12, 2016.
Khurshid Alam, brother-in-law of victim, filed a case in this connection later in the day.
