The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Thursday sentenced sub-inspector Amir Hossain and constable Sujan Chandra Roy to death in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of Begum Rokeya University student Abu Sayeed.
Abu Sayeed is widely known as the first martyr of the July 2024 uprising.
The tribunal also sentenced former Rajshahi Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner Arifuzzaman Jibon, former Tajhat police station officer-in-charge Rabiul Islam Nayan and university camp in-charge Bibhuti Bhuyan Roy to life-term imprisonment.
Former university vice-chancellor Hasibur Rashid, proctor Shariful Islam and 22 others were given jail terms ranging from five years to 20 years.
Chhatra League leader Anwar Parvez has already served his sentence in the case.
