The deceased were identified as Md Jihad, 11, Foujia Jannat Mimn, 9 and Afia Jannat Mitu, 7.

The incident took place at dead of night at the house of Jakir Hossain at Sabanghata village under ward no 8 of Sabrang union. 

Station Officer Saiful Hasan, Chakaria Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the fire might have originated from electric short circuit.
