Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziaur Rahman granted his bail for Tk 5,000 bond this afternoon.
Earlier on November 14, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police pressed charges against singer Asif Akbar for possessing four bottles of foreign liquor.According to case statement, Asif Akbar was arrested on June 5, last year in a music piracy case.
On that time, four bottles of liquor were seized from his office. Later CID sent the bottles to narcotics department for further examining.
Later, Sub-Inspector of Cyber Investigation department of police filed a case with Tejgaon Police Station against the singer under Narcotics Control Act on July 23.
The popular musician had been imprisoned for four days in a case filed by the lyricist and composer Shafiq Tuhin.
