Seven injured in firing before voting began in Cumilla

Shawdesh Desk: At least seven people were injured in firing before beginning of the voting at Galiara Union of Cumilla Sadar Dakkhin upazila.

The voting is going on amid shooting, occupation of centres, cocktail explosion and vandalism.

Earlier in the morning, conflict arose among the supporters of the two member candidates. The incident left seven people injured. Of them, five people sustained bullet wounds.
The incident took place at 8:30am on Monday before the voting began.

Sources said the shooting incident took place beside the vote centre at Shuvapur Government Primary School. The injured people were taken to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
