To facilitate the return of holidaymakers to their workplaces after the Eid-ul-Azha vacation, Bangladesh Railway has begun selling advance train tickets for return journeys.
The tickets for travel on 2 June are being sold today (23 May). Ticket sales for trains operating in the western region began at 8:00am, while tickets for trains operating in the eastern region will go on sale at 2:00pm.
Tickets for 3 June journeys will be available on 24 May, and tickets for 4 June journeys will be sold on 25 May.
Railway authorities have stated that tickets purchased during this period will be non-refundable. Each passenger can buy a maximum of four seat tickets in a single transaction.
If purchasing more than one ticket, the names of accompanying passengers must be be provided at the time of purchase.
Advance ticket sales for Eid travel began on 13 May, when passengers purchased tickets for journeys on 23 May. Tickets for 24 May journeys were sold on 14 May, 25 May tickets on 15 May, 26 May tickets on 16 May, and tickets for 27 May—the final day of advance Eid travel ticket sales—were sold on 17 May.
