Rashed Khan appointed PM’s political assistant

BNP leader and former general secretary of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, Md Rashed Khan, has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Assistant (Political) on a contractual basis with the rank and status of a secretary.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification to this effect on Sunday (19 July), signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani by order of the President.
According to the notification, Md Rashed Khan has been appointed to the post from the date of his joining until the end of the Prime Minister’s tenure or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier, subject to his relinquishing any other profession, business or employment with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.
The notification said other terms and conditions of the appointment would be determined by the contract.
The order was issued in the public interest.
