Prices of some commodities still up

The prices of some essential commodities have increased further at kitchen markets in the capital in the second week of Ramadan.

The prices of commodities like loose atta, loose maida, soybean oil (1 litre bottle), mung bean, broiler, ginger, cardamom, cumin, date and some vegetables have gone up further.

The prices of many commodities were on the increase a month ago before Ramadan. Prices of some essentials have also marked a rise in the last weeks.

 

Many fixed-income people have been facing trouble to maintain their monthly expense due to the further increase in the prices of essential commodities.

The price of one litre soybean oil has increased by 1.23 percent in a week and was sold at Tk 160-170 per bottle, according to the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

Loose white atta price increased by 7.14 percent and was sold at Tk 35-40 per kg, loose maida price increased by 3.16 percent and was sold at Tk 48-50 per kg.

Mung bean price increased by 8.33 percent in a week and was sold at Tk 120-14 per kg, local ginger price increased by 9.52 percent in a week and was sold at TK 90-140 per kg.

Cardamom (small) price has increased by 6.12 percent in a week and was sold at Tk 2,000-3,200 per kg, cumin price increased by 7.41 percent and was sold at Tk Tk 120-170, broiler chicken price increased by 3.17 percent, date price increased by 11.11 percent in a week, the TCB data show.

While visiting Mohammadpur Krishi Market, this correspondent found that brinjal was sold at Tk 80-100 per kg, bean was sold at Tk 100-120 per kg while price of brinjal was Tk 40-50 per kg two weeks earlier and bean was Tk 60 per kg a week earlier.

 

Cucumber price has decreased to Tk 30-40 per kg from Tk 60-80 per kg a week earlier, pointed guard was sold at Tk 50-60 per kg, yeardlong bean was sold at Tk 60-70 per kg, okra was sold at Tk 50-60 per kg, guard was sold at Tk 50-60 per kg, red amaranth was sold at Tk 10-15 per bunch and spinach was sold at Tk 10-15 per bunch.

Tomato was sold at Tk 30-40 per kg, drum stick was sold at Tk 60-80 per kg, green papaya was sold at Tk 40-50 per kg and bitter guard was sold at Tk 60-80 per kg.

Price of Ruhi was Tk 300-450 per kg , hilsa was Tk 1,300 -1,600 per kg, tilapia was TK 160 per kg, pangas was Tk 160-170 per kg, shing was Tk 300-460 per kg while price of other fish were remained previous high at the kitchen market.

Broiler chicken was sold at Tk 170-175 per kg and Sonali was sold at Tk 300-310 per kg while beef and mutton was sold at Tk 700 and 950 per kg.
