A Dhaka court on Monday ordered former minister Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, and former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak to be shown arrested in the murder case of Mahadi Hasan Pantho connected with the July uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah passed the order after police produced them before the court and sought their detention.
According to the case documents, on 19 July, Mahadi took part in an anti-discrimination student movement in the Kodomtoli area of the capital, where he was shot in the head. A case was filed on November 8 in this connection.
Palak was arrested on 14 August, Menon was arrested on 22 August, and Inu was arrested on 26 August. All of them were remanded for different periods in several cases.
