Filmmakers and producers of the country traditionally reserve their biggest productions for the two major Eid festivals, and Eid-ul-Azha 2026 is shaping up to be no different. A number of highly anticipated films are preparing for release during the festive season.

The local film industry witnessed a competitive Eid-ul-Fitr this year, when five films were released simultaneously across the country. Among them, “Bonolota Express,” “Rakkhosh,” “Pressure Cooker,” and “Doom” generated significant attention from moviegoers and sparked widespread discussion on social media. The response has encouraged producers to plan even bigger releases for Eid-ul-Azha.

One of the most-talked-about upcoming films is “Roid,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Suman. Suman previously earned both critical and commercial success with his blockbuster film “Hawa,” and expectations surrounding his new project are already high. The director has confirmed that “Roid” will be released nationwide during Eid-ul-Azha, creating considerable excitement among cinema lovers.

Eid releases in Dhallywood are often associated with superstar Shakib Khan, and this year is no exception. Although his last Eid film “Prince” failed to make a strong impact at the box office, fans remain optimistic about his upcoming film “Rockstar.” The movie reunites Shakib Khan with actress Sabila Nur after their earlier collaboration in “Tandoob.” Their pairing has already become a topic of interest among fans.

Another major attraction for audiences is “Malik,” starring Arifin Shuvoo and Bidya Sinha Mim. The popular duo last appeared together in “Sapludu,” and their reunion has generated strong anticipation. Directed by Saif Chandan, the film was originally scheduled for release during last year’s Eid-ul-Fitr but was later postponed. Producers are now preparing to finally bring the film to theatres this Eid-ul-Azha.

Meanwhile, the long-awaited spy thriller “Masud Rana” is also expected to hit cinemas during the festival. Directed by Saikat Nasir, the film has faced several production delays over the years. However, producer Abdul Aziz recently confirmed plans for its Eid release. The movie stars Russell Rana in the lead role, while Puja Cherry appears opposite him as Sohana.

The government-funded film “Bonolata Sen” has also officially announced its Eid release. Promotional activities for the film have already begun with the unveiling of its first poster, character posters, and teaser. The film features performances by Masuma Rahman Nabila, Khairul Basar, Sohel Mondal, Naziba Bashar, and Priyanti Urbi.

Apart from these major productions, several other films are also likely to join the festive race. “Pinik,” starring Bubly and Ador Azad, may finally see release after repeated delays, while Raihan Khan’s “Tribunal,” featuring Tania Brishty, Nusrat Faria, Moushumi Hamid, and Saira Akhtar, is also expected to entertain audiences during Eid-ul-Azha.
