Md Ehsanul Haque has been appointed as the new senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

He had been serving as the senior secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Division on a contractual basis.

Public administration ministry issued a notification on Sunday confirming his appointment.

Earlier, the former senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md Mokhlesur Rahman, was transferred to the Planning Commission as a member on September 21.

Since the transfer of Mokhlesur Rahman, additional secretary of the Career Planning and Training Wing, Abu Shaheen Md Asaduzzaman, had been performing the duties of acting secretary.

Following the fall of the Awami League government amid a student led mass uprising, Ehsanul Haque was appointed as a secretary on a two-year contractual basis on August 17 last year.

He was then posted to the Road Transport and Highways Division and was promoted to senior secretary on August 18.

Ehsanul Haque, a 1982-batch BCS Administration Cadre officer, had retired as an additional secretary before being reappointed on contract.
