The Election Commission (EC) has dispatched postal ballots to 518,603 domestic voters who registered through “Postal Vote BD” app to take part in 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election and referendum.
Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of OCV-SDI project on expatriate voter registration, told BSS on Saturday that all registered domestic voters had been sent their ballots by 11:30 AM.
According to EC data, 7,367 domestic voters have already received their ballots. Of them, 4,902 have cast their votes, while 2,394 have submitted their completed ballots at post offices or letter boxes.
Meanwhile, participation among expatriate voters remains significant. A total of 458,059 expatriates registered through the app have already exercised their voting rights.
As of 11:30 AM Saturday, 766,862 ballots had been delivered to overseas destinations, with 518,345 confirmed as received by voters.
Of the expatriate ballots, 458,059 votes have been cast and 410,928 ballots have been submitted to post offices or letter boxes abroad. Additionally, 144,860 completed ballots have already reached Bangladesh.
Salim Ahmad Khan added that a total of 1,533,684 voters; both domestic and expatriate, registered through “Postal Vote BD” app to participate in the 13th JS election and referendum.
