The BNP has commented that casino drama has been arranged, including the arrest of Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, to conceal the anti-state agreements during the India visit.

Senior joint secretary general of the party Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the remark at a press conference at BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Sunday.

He said, “You can remember that Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader said that surprise is waiting in the days to come. And it is their surprise. Actually, these are the dramas of the AL. The arrest drama of Samrat has been made to hide the people’s attention regarding the agreements with India.”

Rizvi Ahmed alleged that the government signed those agreements with India are unequal and anti-people.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Dhaka South Awami Jubo League president Samrat and his associate Anamul Haque Arman “on specific allegation”, according to the elite force.

The RAB personnel arrested Samrat, the alleged kingpins of “casino” business, from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla at around 5:00am on Sunday.
