Shawdesh Desk:
A Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim has to spend at least Tk463,744 to perform holy Hajj through private agencies as Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) has announced this year’s private package on Thursday.
HAAB President M Shahadat Hossain Taslim announced the private Hajj package at a media call at Hotel Victory in Naya Paltan in the capital today.
The holy Hajj, the biggest annual congregation of Muslims, will be observed on July 8 or 9, subject to moon sighting.
After a two-year hiatus due to coronavirus pandemic, some 57,585 Bangladeshis will be able to perform Hajj this year. Among them 4,000 will go to Hajj under government management while 53,585 Hajj aspirants will depend on private agencies to perform the holy duty.
HAAB president said they have arranged a ‘general package’ under private management. Besides, all the Hajj agencies can prepare their own packages but none of the package would be less than the HAAB declared lowest Hajj package deal.
Apart from this, he said after the announcement of Hajj package if the Saudi government imposes any further fees, it will be included with the Hajj package and Hajj pilgrims have to bear this.
