Members of BGB detained twelve ‘Bangladeshi nationals’ on Saturday morning while they were entering Bangladesh from India through boarder area near Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah without valid travel documents, UNB reports.

In a media statement, Maheshpur Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion 58 said the detainees include five children.

“BGB members searched a passenger bus acting on a tip-off on Sonagari road around 6:40am and detained them,” a BGB official told media.

Some of the detainees said to BGB that they had gone to India for work at different times.

In November, BGB said it detained 260 Bangladeshis for crossing the border from India without valid travel documents.
