The Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday sent 133 ordinances promulgated during the interim government to a special parliamentary committee for scrutiny.
Placing the proposal in the House, law minister Md Asaduzzaman said that the ordinances had already been presented before parliament and required detailed examination.
‘A special committee was formed at the very first sitting of the first session,’ the minister said, requesting that the ordinances be referred to the committee for verification and review.
He further urged that the committee be directed to submit its report by April 2 after completing the scrutiny process.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed then put the proposal to a voice vote in the House.
The motion was adopted, and the 133 ordinances were formally referred to the special committee.
The committee has been tasked with examining the ordinances and submitting its report to parliament by April 2.
