Assault on police: Court frames charges against 40 BNP leaders, activists

A Dhaka court has framed charges against 40 BNP leaders and activists in a case filed over assaulting policemen in April 2018.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain framed the charges on Monday.
The accused, including Joint Secretary General Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel and Jubo Dal General Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, are now in bail.
Earlier in the day, the magistrate dismissed separate petitions submitted for discharging them from the charges of the case.
The court fixed June 23 for starting trial of the case.
