The first official poster of Raihan Rafi’s upcoming horror film “Andhar” is out now. Released on Thursday evening, the poster offers the first collective glimpse of the film’s principal characters and confirms an October 2026 theatrical release.

Above them, an opening in the storm clouds creates an almost celestial beam of light. The contrast between the luminous white costumes and the dark, turbulent sky gives the poster an unsettling visual tension.

What makes the poster particularly effective is its refusal to rely on familiar horror clichés. There are no obvious monsters, blood-soaked images or exaggerated expressions. Instead, the sense of unease comes from the setting, posture and symbolism.

The characters appear strangely calm against an environment that feels anything but peaceful. Their identical clothing raises an immediate question: are they connected by a shared fate, a mysterious ritual, or something more sinister? The dark architectural platform beneath them is another intriguing element.

The poster also benefits from the film’s ensemble cast, which includes Siam Ahmed, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Mostafa Monwar and Farrukh Ahmed Rehan, among others. Yet rather than presenting the actors individually, the poster places them within a single mysterious tableau.

“Andhar” is Raihan Rafi’s entry into the horror genre. The filmmakers have previously described the project as a blend of horror, mystery, thriller, murder and emotional drama, with an emphasis on creating a distinctly Bangladeshi horror experience.

As a first official poster, Andhar succeeds because it does not reveal too much. Its greatest strength is the mystery surrounding the five figures, the strange landscape and the meaning of the light above them. For now, Andhar has delivered a poster that does exactly what a good horror poster should: it leaves the audience curious, unsettled and wanting to know what lies beyond the darkness.
