Home minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday claimed that the country’s law and order situation had visibly improved over the past six months, attributing the progress to government reforms and initiatives undertaken during the last 180 days.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a meeting of the recommendation formulation committee on the Bangladesh Judicial Service Pay Commission 2025 report at the Ministry of Finance in the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The minister said that public satisfaction with law and order would ultimately be judged by the people, but maintained that the government had achieved a noticeable improvement during its first six months in office.

‘We have completed only six months. During this period, we have carried out many reforms, and you have seen various commendable initiatives by the law enforcement agencies,’ he said.

Salahuddin Ahmed added that the government would continue its efforts to further strengthen law and order in line with public expectations, noting that the progress achieved so far still needed time to be consolidated.

He also said that the initiatives and programmes implemented by the government over the past 180 days had been appreciated by the people.
