Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee on Tuesday said that no decision had yet been made on resuming the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations in all districts under the Chattogram division from July 27.
In an urgent public notice, the committee under the education ministry also informed all concerned, including examinees, guardians, teachers, heads of educational institutions, officers in charge of the centres and the public, that the misleading notification circulated on social media in the name of the committee stating that the examination would be held as per the predetermined schedule of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chattogram, from July 27 is completely untrue and purposefully motivated.
The Chattogram Board or the committee have no connection with such untrue and misleading notifications.
‘Everyone is requested not to believe or share any information circulated on social media without verifying it,’ the notice read, ‘All decisions, notifications and instructions related to the examination are published only on the official websites and verified Facebook pages of the education ministry, the committee and the concerned education boards.’
It added that, ‘in the public interest, everyone is requested to refrain from spreading rumors and misleading information.’
The notice was signed by the committee convener and Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka controller of examinations Professor Jasmine Taslima Banu.
The HSC and equivalent examinations started on July 2 and due to inclement weather the government suspended the examinations in Chattogram division on July 8 until further notice.
