Four Bangladeshi Army peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) have been awarded prestigious national honours by the President of the Central African Republic in recognition of their contributions to peace and security.

According to a Bangladesh Army statement issued on Tuesday, the honours were conferred through a Presidential Decree issued on 10 June.

The recipients are Brig Gen Mohammad Ali Reza, Sector East Commander and Senior National Representative of the Bangladesh Army at MINUSCA; Lt Col Mohammad Hasibul Hasan, Contingent Commander of Bangladesh Special Force Company (BANSFC)-10; Major Imrul Hasan Oyon, Military Assistant to the Sector East Commander; and Captain Md Shakwat Hossain Sarker, Interpreter of BANSFC-10.

They were recognised for their outstanding contribution to maintaining peace and security during the election of the Seventh Republic, as well as for strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Bangladesh and the Central African Republic.

The statement said BANSFC-10 played a key role in securing the office of the National Elections Authority (Autorité Nationale des Élections) and supporting the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) in the remote and sensitive area of Zangba during the election.

In addition, BANSFC-10 and its contingent commander received Certificates of Commendation from the Chief of Army Staff of FACA for their professionalism and performance during the 2025-2026 national elections.

The Bangladesh Army said the recognitions reflect the professionalism and excellence of Bangladeshi peacekeepers serving under the UN mission.
