Among the films released this Eid, Rakkhosh, starring Siam Ahmed, has emerged as a strong performer, making headlines for its impressive box office run despite limited screenings.
Since Eid, the action-packed film has been running an average of 18 to 20 shows daily. Although audience demand for more screenings has been high, the number of shows has yet to increase. Even with fewer shows compared to competing releases, Rakkhosh has successfully captured viewers’ attention and appreciation.
According to multiplex sources, the film entered the coveted crore club within just six days of its release, becoming the third Eid release to achieve this milestone. Data from film-based page BMR shows that on Friday, the movie was screened across 13 Star Cineplex outlets and five Lion Cinemas, totaling 18 shows. Of these, 10 were housefull, while two others were nearly full.
In its first seven days, Rakkhosh earned approximately Tk 1.24 crore from multiplexes alone. Encouraged by this performance, its production house, Real Energy Productions, is now planning a wider release in single-screen cinemas from next week. The team has also urged cineplex authorities to increase show numbers, noting that many viewers are unable to secure tickets and are being forced to watch other films instead.
Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, the romantic action thriller presents Siam Ahmed in a striking new avatar that blends action, romance, and intense drama—an aspect widely appreciated by audiences. He is paired opposite Sushmita Chatterjee. The film also features performances by Ali Raj, Sohel Mondal, and Bollywood actor Sataf Figar, with a special appearance in a song by Natalia Janoszek.
Director Hridoy expressed satisfaction over the response, saying that daily housefull shows at Star Cineplex reflect how strongly audiences are connecting with
the film’s story—something he considers the production’s greatest success.
