Committee recommends undivided curriculum till Class X secondary edn improvement

The consultation committee formed for submitting recommendations on quality improvement of the secondary education recommended undivided curriculum till Class X immediately to improve the secondary level education.

The committee members submitted the draft report of the committee with some main recommendations to the adviser to the education ministry professor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar on Tuesday at a meeting held at the secretariat in the capital.

The committee gave a total of 120 recommendations, including 49 immediate ones.

As per the immediate actions the committee also recommended giving priority on Bangla, English, science, mathematics and information technology subjects, cancellation of scholarship exam in Class VIII and recruitment against vacant teacher’s positions.

The education ministry formed the 10-member committee on October 21 for quality improvement of the secondary education, infrastructural development and management of secondary education and improve the teaching and learning activities.

The education ministry on October 21 issued an office order regarding the formation of the committee.

According to the office order, the committee will complete its work within three months from the issuance of the order and submit the recommendations to the ministry.

BRAC University professor emeritus Manzoor Ahmed, is the convener of the committee.
